LM-4A was a three stage launch vehicle and all of its stages were powered by conventional propellants. LM-4A was mostly used to launch solar synchronous missions. It had an overall length of 41.9 meters, a maximum diameter of 3.35 meters, a lift-off mass of 241.9 tons and a lift-off thrust of 300 tons. Since its maiden flight in September 1988, its success rate had been 100%. The LM-4A has been placed out of commission.
