On September 10, 2015, the Sixteenth Meeting of Space Cooperation Sub-Committee of China-Russia Prime Ministers' regular Meeting Committee was hold in Moscow, the meeting was co-chaired by the director of China National Space Administration Xu Dazhe and the temporary acting director of Russian Federal Space Agency Reis Cove. general manager of China Aerospace Science and Technology Wu Yansheng, general manager of  China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Cao Jianguo, deputy general manager of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation Hu Aimin attended the meeting.

The Sub-Committee heard the report on Chinese and Russia's space activities since the Fifteenth Sub-Committee meeting on September 2014, summed up the past year progress of Sub-Committee, deployed the subsequent cooperation.

The both sides decided to actively promote the implementation of the project in " China-Russian space cooperation framework  2013- 2017".

The both sides agreed to actively carry out the follow-up cooperation in accordance with " Memorandum of Understanding between China National Space Administration and the Russian Federal Space Agency on the exchange of bilateral cooperation in earth observation data " signed in May 2015, to promote remote sensing satellite data exchange between the two countries, and service the economic and social development of each country.

The both sides agreed to cooperate in the field of lunar and  Mars exploration, Russia hopes to take advantage of China Chang E IV lunar probe satellite equipped with Russian scientific instruments, the two sides will study the technical feasibility. After the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the meeting.

Before the meeting, Director Xu Dazhe met with the Russian Federal Space Agency Acting Director Ivanov. This meeting is prepared for the Twentieth Meeting of the China-Russia Prime Ministers' regular meeting committee.
