On the morning of September 24, Dr. Ma Xingrui, Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), met with Mr. Walter J. Natynczyk, President of Canadian Space Agency (CSA) in Beijing. The two parties held a friendly talk about deepening China-Canada space cooperation.
Ma congratulated Natynczyk on his election as the President of Canadian Space Agency, and highly commended the achievements made by Canada in such fields as Earth observation, manned spaceflight and space science in recent years.
Mr. Natynczyk said that the Memorandum of Understanding about Cooperation in the Field of Space Science and Technology between China National Space Administration and Canadian Space Agency has expired, and suggested that the two parties should renew it earlier and promote the establishment of a China-Canada space cooperation mechanism.
Ma agreed to Natynczyk’s suggestion, and hoped that the two parties can discuss the renewal of the MOU so as to provide policy support for further cooperation between the two parties as well as a better platform for the enterprises of the two countries to conduct cooperation.
Mr. Tian Yulong, Secretary General of CNSA, and the related heads of China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) attended the meeting.
